The Venmo payment method introduced in Payouts 2.1 enables vendors to request payment to a US mobile number with Payouts to Venmo. It provides a way to offer an alternative payout method to vendors with no additional effort on the admin’s part.
How it Works
When the Venmo payout method is enabled, a Payment Method dropdown appears in the vendor dashboard under Settings > Payment. When Venmo is selected, a new Venmo Number field appears. This field accepts any valid US mobile number like 555-555-5555 or 5555555555 as input.
When a vendor selects Venmo as their preferred payment method, their payouts will be sent to the entered phone number instead of to their PayPal address. If the vendor is a Venmo user, they will be notified of their payment, or else they will receive a text with a link to sign up and claim their payment.

You get Payouts to Venmo as a bonus when using PayPal Payouts, so if you’re already approved for live PayPal Payouts, no additional approval is required to use the Venmo payout method.
Enabling Venmo Payouts
To enable the Venmo payment method:
- Go to WC Vendors > Settings > Payments > Payouts
- Check Enable Venmo Payouts
- Save changes
